Job description

Salary Range: $65,000 – 85,000

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position is primarily responsible for executing treasury transactions (including liquidity management, investments, wholesale funding, and derivatives) and assisting in the performance of variety of treasury department tasks related to accounting as well as financial modeling and reporting.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Under the supervision of the Treasury Manager, assist with the management of the bank’s assets and liabilities.  This includes developing a basic understanding of the financial characteristics of on-balance sheet and off-balance sheet financial instruments as they relate to cashflows, interest rate risk, liquidity, credit, earnings, and capital.
  • Primary responsibility for the operational settlement and documentation of all treasury transactions, including wires, wholesale funding/borrowing, investment purchase/sales, and derivative trades.
  • Assist in measurement of the bank’s interest rate risk position.
  • Primary responsibility for the preparation, recording, and documentation of accounting general ledger journal entries for all treasury transactions.
  • Assist with measurement of and compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, bank policies, and industry best practices.
  • Assist with collateral management, including the measurement of collateral positions and primary responsibility for the operational processes to pledge assets to collateralize wholesale funding, derivatives, and certain customer deposits.
  • Participate in the FHLB MULOC process.
  • Assist with the New York State Deposit Programs (Linked Deposit and State Charter/CBDF).
  • Work with personnel in the accounting department to perform certain accounting responsibilities including recording month-end accruals and reporting.
  • Assist the department leadership team with various data aggregation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Assist with requirements for pertinent regulatory exams, external audits, and internal audits.
  • Active participation in the behaviors outlined in The GRB Experience.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting (or related business field) or commensurate experience required
  • Experience at a financial institution or working in finance or accounting preferred.
