Job description

TERRITORY SALES REPRESENTATIVE Brad Halling American Whiskey Ko. (BHAWK) · Florence, SC Part-time · $20.00/hour + commission · 20-25 hrs per week

Our Story

In 1993, during the Battle of Mogadishu, later depicted in the film Black Hawk Down, Army Special Operations Soldier Brad Halling manned the mini-gun of helicopter Super 62, providing covering-fire for his teammates. Brad was struck by a rocket-propelled grenade that took his left leg above the knee. Brad survived, recovered, and went on to serve as a Sergeant Major in the United States Army and become the first above-knee amputee to serve through full military retirement.

Brad Halling American Whiskey Ko., BHAWK for short, is his expression of Gratitude for that extraordinary service, and for the extraordinary service of every person who has answered the call. Through our flagship Sergeant's Valor whiskeys and our Madam Colonel premium spirits portfolio, we Raise the American Spirit by honoring those who served, those who lead, and those who sacrifice. Our full story is available at hallingwhiskey.com

We are not just selling bottles. We are delivering a story into every room we walk into.

The Role

We are looking for a part-time Territory Sales Representative to grow the BHAWK brand.

This is a professional field-sales role. You will build real relationships with ABC store managers, restaurant managers, and bar teams. You will execute ABC store tastings with the energy and preparation of a selling professional. You will represent two distinct and growing award-winning spirits brands, Sergeant's Valor and Madam Colonel, in a market that has responded enthusiastically to both on a small scale in our first two years of business.

BHAWK has established board relationships throughout this territory. The right person inherits momentum and builds on it.

What You Will Do

ABC Store Tastings: 8 per month minimum. Execute consumer tastings at ABC stores throughout the territory. Know the brand story and products cold. Engage every customer. Identify food and beverage professionals for on-premise follow-up. Submit a tasting recap with PLU report or store manager sign-off within 72 hours of every event.

Tasting schedule is concentrated Thursday evenings (4-7pm), Friday afternoons and evenings (1-4pm, 4-7pm), and Saturdays (1-4pm, 4-7pm). This schedule is the core availability requirement for this role. If these windows do not work for your life, this role is not the right fit.

October through December is the hospitality industry's peak selling season and BHAWK's most important quarter. Heightened tasting cadence, on-premise activity, and field marketing intensity during this period are expected and non-negotiable. Breaks during October through December are subject to deliberate planning with BHAWK.

Field Marketing Events. Identify, schedule, and execute field marketing events throughout the territory - festivals, community events, charity functions, and other public activations - as both as brand awareness and lead generation activity. Come prepared to every event with the same professionalism as an ABC tasting; every consumer interaction is a potential on-premise lead.

On-Premise Account Development. 4 to 6 account visits per week Call on bars and restaurants throughout NC

Persistent follow-through is as important as the first visit. Accounts that don't hear from you again don't reorder, and reorders are how brands grow.

Brand Education Conduct staff training sessions at on-premise accounts. Product knowledge, cocktail applications, and the Sergeant's Valor and Madam Colonel brand stories. Staff who understand the brand sell it. Staff who love it champion it.

Weekly Reporting Submit a structured weekly recap covering account visits, tastings, placements, pipeline status, wins, challenges, hours, mileage and resourcing needs. Light format, consistent cadence, every week.

The Schedule Commitment - Please Read Before Applying

This role requires consistent availability during the following windows:

  • Thursday evenings: 4:00pm - 7:00pm
  • Friday afternoons: 1:00pm - 4:00pm
  • Friday evenings: 4:00pm - 7:00pm
  • Saturday afternoons: 1:00pm - 4:00pm
  • Saturday evenings: 4:00pm - 7:00pm
  • Weekday daytime hours for on-premise account visits (flexible within business hours)

If you cannot consistently commit to Thursday evenings, Fridays, and Saturdays, this role is not the right fit. We respect your time and ask that you respect ours - the right candidate is someone for whom this schedule works, not someone who will make it work temporarily.

Total weekly commitment: approximately 20–25 hours including travel and reporting.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly rate: $20.00/hour
  • Commission on confirmed placements, reorders, and board acquisitions- structure discussed at offer
  • Fuel paid /reimbursement for territory travel
  • Paid training
  • 401(k) available
  • Employee discount on BHAWK merchandise per company policy
  • Opportunities for advancement. BHAWK is actively building its statewide field sales team; this role is a starting point, not a ceiling. It can transition to a full-time salaried position

Who You Are

You may come from hospitality, spirits sales, retail management, the military community, or somewhere else entirely. What matters is who you are, not where you've been.

You are someone for whom the BHAWK story means something. You feel it when you read it, or you don't. And if you do, that is the most important qualification for this role.

Beyond that, you bring:

  • Genuine comfort in bar and restaurant environments. You are at home talking to a bartender, a store manager, or a consumer who has never heard of BHAWK
  • Strong self-direction. This role operates independently; no one will be looking over your shoulder
  • Reliability. When you say you will be somewhere, you are there
  • Clear, confident communication in person, on the phone, and in writing
  • Working knowledge of spirits - categories, production, flavor profiles, and cocktail applications -strongly preferred; someone who can speak knowledgeably about bourbon, rye, gin, vodka, and cream liqueurs in a bar or retail setting without needing a cheat sheet
  • Physical capability: lifting cases, setting up and breaking down tasting events, standing for extended periods
  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
  • Familiarity with the SC ABC system a plus; willingness to learn it a requirement

About Our Brands

BHAWK is a destination distillery, restaurant, cocktail bar, event space in Southern Pines, North Carolina. There, we Raise the American Spirit through two spirits brands, Sergeant’s Valor and Madam Colonel, and an upscale-casual and welcoming experience.

Sergeant's Valor is our award-winning premium whiskey portfolio. Select Bourbon and Select Rye, both Gold Medal winners at USA Spirits Ratings, with Select Rye named Rye Whiskey of the Year. Each expression is hand-selected and purpose-driven, honoring those with the valor to serve.

Madam Colonel is our premium spirits line dedicated to honoring those with the will to achieve. Named for leaders and mentors, the portfolio includes Gin, Vodka, and Pistachio Bourbon Cream -our fastest-growing expression that stops people mid-sentence when they taste it for the first time. Madam Colonel brings a distinct voice to the portfolio and opens doors in accounts that might not have a place for whiskey on every menu.

Two brands. One mission. Every bottle carries a story worth telling.

To Apply

Apply with your resume and a brief note, not a cover letter, just a few sentences about what drew you to this role. We read every application.
