Job description

One Mission Society is seeking a dynamic servant of God to represent OMS within the Roberts Wesleyan University community and the greater Western New York area.

This Regional Engagement Representative role exists to facilitate missionary sending through intentional relationship building with Roberts Wesleyan University, nearby churches, and individuals across the assigned region. The right candidate will bring enthusiastic representation of OMS and a genuine desire to see more individuals accept God’s call to cross-cultural missionary service with OMS.

This role calls for someone who serves with both skilled hands and a heart of deep integrity, building relationships that help turn God’s call into action across Western New York.

This person will work primarily from an office on the Roberts Wesleyan University campus in Rochester, NY and travel throughout Western New York.

Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements
  • A Master’s Degree in related field preferred; Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years ministry experience
  • Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is committed to the Arminian/Wesleyan tradition.
  • Demonstrate strong administrative and organizational leadership capabilities, including vision casting, strategic planning and program implementation.
  • Committed follower of Jesus Christ who loves people and engages in spiritual disciplines regularly.
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills, including public speaking.
  • Proficiency with technology and computers, i.e. Microsoft Office, basic graphic design using Canvas (or other tools), and knowledgeable use of social media platforms.
  • Strong leadership gifts with administrative and organizational skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the RWU Campus Pastor in developing and implementing the university’s Local & Global Missions initiatives.
  • Provide support for the broader programs, events, and ministry initiatives of the Office of Spiritual Life.
  • Develop and facilitate a weekly campus ministry program that emphasizes discipleship and missions.
  • Lead 1-2 short-term mission trips per year of RWU students to OMS fields and regions.
  • Assist with organization and implementation of special OMS events.
  • Recruit RWU students to serve in OMS mid-term opportunities (Embark).
  • Recruit RWU students to serve in OMS summer internships at OMS headquarters in Greenwood, Indiana.
  • Recruit RWU students to serve as OMS long-term residential missionaries.
  • Represent OMS at mission events and churches in New York
  • Organize and supervise a team of qualified adults and students in the creation of programming.
