Job description

Position Purpose

The Program Coordinator-Oncology Wellness role is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and continuously improving the Oncology Wellness Program. This role supports initiatives designed to enhance patient outcomes and quality of life throughout the cancer care continuum while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.

Nature and Scope

The coordinator independently manages day-to-day program operations, establishing workflows, determining priorities, and allocating resources to support program delivery. The role is accountable for designing and evolving program offerings, identifying gaps in services, and implementing new initiatives based on patient needs, utilization trends, and organizational goals.

This position exercises independent judgment and discretion in evaluating program effectiveness, analyzing data and outcomes, and making decisions that directly impact service delivery, patient access, and operational efficiency. Decisions related to program structure, scheduling, service delivery models, and resource coordination are regularly made with limited oversight, while broader strategic direction is aligned in collaboration with leadership.

The role also supports program growth and sustainability through community partnerships, interdisciplinary collaboration, and participation in initiatives such as grants, philanthropy, and accreditation activities. The coordinator contributes to long-term program development by monitoring outcomes, recommending improvements, and ensuring alignment with regulatory and organizational standards.

Education:

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform job duties safely and effectively. A bachelor’s degree in a related area of healthcare is preferred, or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in healthcare program coordination, oncology support services, or wellness programming preferred.

Experience working with cancer patients and/or in a healthcare or nonprofit setting preferred.

License(s):

None

Certification(s):

Certified Mastectomy Fitter (CMF) through Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) within 6 months of hire.

Computer / Typing:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
