Job description

Job Title: Well Tester

Job Description

This role involves performing field well testing operations, accurately measuring and recording flow rates, and safely operating specialized separation and choke equipment. You will work with computers and software to enter and analyze data, follow laboratory procedures, and maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies while working independently in an outdoor industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor well testing equipment to accurately measure and record flow rates.
  • Use a computer and designated software programs to perform data entry and maintain accurate records of well tests.
  • Understand and apply the limits and capabilities of the equipment being operated during well testing operations.
  • Operate two-phase, three-phase, and four-phase separators and apply appropriate uses for each type of separator.
  • Operate a choke manifold, including zeroing a choke and applying different choke manifold configurations for various applications.
  • Learn and perform servicing and basic maintenance of choke manifolds to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Follow proper methods for conducting laboratory procedures related to well testing and fluid analysis.
  • Use power tools, hand tools, and measurement tools safely and correctly during setup, operation, and maintenance activities.
  • Read and take accurate measurements using tape measures and other measurement tools in support of testing and equipment setup.
  • Apply mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and support the safe functioning of equipment.
  • Perform general labor tasks related to well testing, including setup, monitoring, and breakdown of equipment.
  • Support activities related to water, wastewater, and wastewater treatment as they relate to well testing operations.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and strictly observe health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
  • Maintain all required safety training and certifications in good standing.
  • Work independently outdoors, reading and testing wells, often alone and in varying weather conditions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
