Job description

Overview

FNF Construction, Inc., a leading heavy civil general contractor serving the Southwestern United States, is seeking an

experienced construction professional responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting Bid-Well bridge deck finishing machines and related concrete paving equipment. Ensures accurate concrete placement and finishing while performing preventive maintenance and repairs to maximize equipment performance, safety, and productivity on bridge and roadway construction projects. This position requires frequent travel to project sites across multiple states and the ability to work extended hours based on project schedules and operational demands.

Responsibilities
  • Operate Bid-Well bridge deck finishing machines to achieve specified grade, elevation, and surface finish requirements.
  • Set up, calibrate, and adjust machine components before and during concrete placement operations.
  • Monitor machine performance and make real-time adjustments to ensure quality concrete finishing.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and lubrication of equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
  • Replace worn or damaged components, including motors, bearings, hoses, chains, and hydraulic systems.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, specifications, and construction plans.
  • Conduct pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections and maintain maintenance records.
  • Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, survey crews, and concrete placement teams to ensure efficient operations.
  • Follow OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and ensure equipment is properly secured when not in use.
  • Assist with the operation and maintenance of other heavy construction equipment as needed.
Qualifications
  • 5 + Years Experience operating Bid-Well bridge deck finishing machines or similar concrete paving equipment.
  • Knowledge of concrete placement, finishing, grading, and bridge construction processes.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, grade stakes, and project specifications.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and travel to project sites as required.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
