Job description

Tactical Network - Engineer Our client seeks a Field Tactical Network Engineer to serve as a subject matter expert for Program Manager C2 Transport supporting PdM Network Modernization for At-the-Halt, On-the-Move, and SATCOM networks. The engineer will lead configuration, validation, and testing of tactical network systems, manage documentation, and coordinate across systems engineering leads to address integration challenges and evolving requirements. The role includes systems engineering oversight for SATCOM, baseband networking, and related software, collaboration with stakeholder organizations, and delivery of briefings on engineering, architecture, and test status. The engineer will support network planning, setup, configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and teardown while coordinating with unit CFSRs, S6 staff, and other personnel. This position may require an uncommon tour to meet mission requirements and occasional travel. Location: On-site – Fort Lewis, WA Schedule: 5 days onsite or 4x10’s

Start Date: Mid July Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with an active Secret clearance. This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities
• Serve as focal point and SME for PdM Network Modernization across At-the-Halt, On-the-Move, and SATCOM networks.
• Identify and report problems to project leadership, recommend resolutions, and manage system configurations and incident documentation.
• Configure, validate, and test tactical network systems delivered to units.
• Provide technical leadership to align actions, schedules, and resolve conflicting viewpoints for support operations and systems.
• Coordinate system development tasks with systems engineering leads to address integration challenges and new requirements.
• Oversee development and testing of SATCOM systems, baseband networking equipment, and software.
• Collaborate across embedded support teams to implement plans that meet program objectives.
• Represent the program at planning conferences with units and external organizations.
• Develop and present briefings on systems engineering, network architecture, and test status.
• Support network planning, setup, configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and teardown activities.
• Coordinate closely with unit CFSRs, S6 staff, and other stakeholders.
Experience Requirements
• Eight years of related tactical network engineering experience minimum. Fifteen years acceptable in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
• Extensive experience in network engineering with a record of delivering quality solutions within military communications environments.
• Knowledge of network services such as DNS, DHCP, mail services, Active Directory, SharePoint, and other user services desired.
• Specialized experience as an engineer in industry or in active, reserve, or National Guard units desired.
• Experience with PdM Network Modernization products desired.
• Ability to work an uncommon tour including nights, weekends, and holidays as mission requires.
• Occasional travel as required.
• Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Testing, or related field. Bachelor’s degree may be substituted with seven additional years of related tactical network engineering experience.
