Unarmed Security Officer - Union Office Building Complex
Location: Downers Grove
Position Type: Part-Time (Union Position)
Shifts: Saturday and Sunday | 2:00pm-10:00pm
Pay Rate: $19.50 per hour
Position Overview
We are seeking reliable, professional, and observant Unarmed Security Officers to provide outstanding security and customer service at a union office building complex in the Chicago suburban area. This position combines front desk concierge duties, building access control, and foot patrol responsibilities to maintain a safe, secure, and professional environment for tenants, employees, and guests.
As the first point of contact for many visitors, you will represent both the security team and the client organization - requiring a polished demeanor, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to safety.
Primary Responsibilities
Concierge & Front Desk Duties
  • Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, employees, and vendors.
  • Maintain visitor logs and issue building access credentials as required.
  • Handle deliveries, contractors, and guest inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Communicate effectively with property management and tenant representatives.
Team & Professional Standards
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company and client standards.
  • Interact respectfully with tenants, employees, and members of the public.
  • Follow all post orders, company policies, and safety protocols.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development as required by the company or union contract.
Qualifications
  • Must possess a valid Illinois PERC (Permanent Employee Registration Card).
  • Must have completed the 20-hour Illinois Unarmed Security Training Certificate.
  • Minimum 1 year of prior security, concierge, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
  • Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills required.
  • Ability to handle routine and emergency situations calmly and effectively.
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality required.
