Security Officer (Per Diem / Part‑Time)

We’re looking for a Security Officer who is calm under pressure, service‑oriented, and committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all.

What You’ll Do
  • Safeguard patients, visitors, staff, physicians, and hospital property
  • Respond quickly and professionally to emergencies and security requests
  • Patrol hospital buildings, grounds, and parking areas
  • Monitor CCTV, alarms, and access points
  • Provide escort services and assistance during inclement weather
  • Support hospital emergency codes and disaster procedures
  • Document daily activities and complete incident reports accurately
  • Collaborate with clinical and non‑clinical teams to maintain a secure environment
What We’re Looking For
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Clean criminal history
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Strong communication and customer‑service skills
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in stressful situations
  • Basic computer and radio communication skills
  • Previous hospital security or law enforcement experience preferred
Certifications (Preferred / Obtained After Hire)
  • IAHSS Basic Healthcare Security Officer Certification
  • Compassion in Care / Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention (CCT)
  • American Heart Association HeartSaver Certification

Pay Range:

$18.50 - $24.90

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
