Job #: 310176 Title: Professional Security Officer Location: Jackson, LA Salary Range: 27.00 Position: Security Officer Description:
We are seeking qualified and professional Security Officers to join our security detail at a state-owned facility. In this role, officers will be responsible for operating and monitoring X-Ray screening equipment to ensure the safety and security of the facility, its staff, and all visitors. This is a highly visible, essential public safety role requiring professionalism, alertness, and sound judgment at all times.
X-Ray Screening Detail
State-Owned Facility | East Feliciana | Day and Night Shifts Available | 90 Day Assignment
Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Operate X-Ray screening equipment and monitor conveyor belt systems to detect prohibited or dangerous items
  • Screen individuals and personal belongings in accordance with facility security protocols
  • Maintain a visible security presence at entry and screening checkpoints
  • Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents or alarms
  • Enforce facility access control policies and procedures
  • Document and report security incidents, irregularities, or equipment malfunctions
  • Communicate effectively with facility management, law enforcement, and the public
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Louisiana Security License
  • Background check Must successfully pass
  • Employees must pass routine and frequent drug screens
  • Strong observational and communication skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and remain alert throughout shift
  • Ability to work multiple shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior Law Enforcement experience (local, state, or federal) strongly preferred
  • Prior Military service strongly preferred
  • Experience operating X-Ray, fluoroscope, or other security screening equipment
  • Previous security or access control experience in a government or institutional setting
  • Familiarity with de-escalation techniques and emergency response procedures
