A commissioned security officer enforces safety in an office building or another large facility. As a commissioned security officer, your duties revolve around protecting the workers, guests, or residents of the building, as well as the assets it houses. This includes canvassing the property or monitoring surveillance cameras for suspicious activity and controlling who comes in and out of the facility. You may carry a firearm while on duty, which requires specialized training. Depending on your state, you may need a commissioned security license as well.
