The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
  • Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve mechanical equipment and components. These components may include: Pneumatic and hydraulic components, Gearboxes, couplings and power transmission systems, Bearings and lubrication practices, pumps, valves, pumping and piping systems, Clutch, brakes and drive components
  • Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve systems components. These activities may include: Motors, drive control components and I/O, Working knowledge of controls programming electrical sensors and field devices, Network systems and communication.
  • Perform millwright tasks: Moving material, equipment and machinery using standard methods of lifting, rigging, hoisting, blocking, skidding and rolling.
  • Troubleshoot and repair low voltage electrical equipment and may include: Replace and wire motors, Replace fuses, Replace or adjust micro switches, proximity switches, photo eyes etc.
  • Perform Preventive, Predictive, and Emergency Maintenance inclusive of: Production equipment, material handling equipment, safety devices and facility utilities following standard procedures as indicated on PM route sheets or in equipment manuals, Set-up PM's on new equipment, Update PM's on existing equipment for frequency and job plan.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
  • Possess a High School Diploma / GED or higher (completed prior to start)
  • 2 years of Maintenance experience in an Industrial/manufacturing setting.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
  • Associate's degree in an engineering-related field (Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, or industrial maintenance field
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings
