Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA) researches, designs, and implements culturally responsive events and programs that promote the pursuit of academic success, retention, and graduation of all students.

NC State University Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA) is a unit of the Division of Academic and Student Affairs located in Talley Student Union. The Graduate Programming Coordinator in Multicultural Student Affairs works with staff and students to create programming, outreach, and student support that meets the mission of Multicultural Student Affairs. The Graduate Programming Coordinator serves in a professional in-practice role and translates theory to practice, applying their academic, research, and curricular experiences to the co-curricular environment of the student success unit, Multicultural Student Affairs. 

The graduate student in the Graduate Programming Coordinator role in Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA) plays a key role in supporting the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs that enhance student success and foster a sense of belonging. This position also involves collaboration, student engagement, and assessment efforts that align with the Center's goals and the graduate student's learning outcomes. Specific responsibilities may vary based on the Center's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement student success and belonging programs and events.
  • Assist with planning and coordination of the annual Symposium for Multicultural Scholars.
  • Foster student engagement through volunteer and involvement opportunities.
  • Contribute to marketing and visibility efforts for MSA and its initiatives.
  • Develop and facilitate graduate student-focused programming.
  • Collaborate on initiatives related to leadership development, academic enrichment, and mentorship.
  • Develop and implement assessment measures for programs and student engagement.
  • Participate as part of an interdependent and collaborative staff team.
  • Engage students through one-on-one conversations and provide appropriate referrals for academic, personal, and professional support.

This role requires multi-day in-person on-site work at the Raleigh campus of NC State and is not available for remote work.
