Title: Project Coordinator
Location: Newton, NC 
Duration: 12 Months

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM with occasional overtime and weekend support as needed.

Overview:
The Technical Project Administrator provides essential administrative and project management support to ensure the successful planning, execution, and completion of projects safely. This role involves coordinating project activities, managing safety aspects, maintaining project documentation, tracking progress, and facilitating communication between team members and stakeholders for a capacity increase project for Optical Fiber Cable operation. The Project Administrator plays a key role in ensuring efficiency and organization throughout the project lifecycle. In addition, this role also provides technical support on the floor for equipment installation and troubleshooting. The role supports multiple small groups of mechanical engineers and techs working across four nearby plants.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Administrative Support:
o Assist the project manager(s) and team in daily administrative tasks.
o Manage safety aspects of the project.
o Manage project schedules, deadlines, and calendars.
o Organize and schedule meetings, including preparing agendas and taking minutes.
o Oversee correspondence and communication for the project team.
2. Day to Day Support
o Safety paperwork management for contractors.
o PSSR management and document notebook for each line.
o All ordering request both equipment and team needs.
o Inventory tracking.
o Shipping and movement of materials between plant for conversion setups.
o Assist with parts movement between plants for builds.
o Assist each team as needed.
3. Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including plans, contracts, budgets, and reports.
o Track project progress and milestones, ensuring key deliverables are met on time.
o Prepare regular status reports for stakeholders.
4. Coordination and Communication:
o Facilitate communication between project team members, departments, and external stakeholders.
o Coordinate resource allocation and ensure team members have the tools they need to complete tasks.
o Function as the point of contact for project-related inquiries.
5. Budget and Resource Management:
o Monitor project budgets and expenses, ensuring costs remain within agreed limits.
o Process invoices, purchase orders, and other financial documentation related to the project.
o Purchasing parts and coordinating materials
o Managing documentation for builds, conversions, and safety compliance.
o Supporting schedules and inventory control.
6. Risk Management:
o Identify potential risks or issues and escalate them to the project manager as needed.
o Support the team in implementing contingency plans to mitigate risks.
7. Compliance and Quality Assurance:
o Ensure all project activities comply with company policies and industry standards.
o Monitor the quality of deliverables to ensure they meet agreed-upon standards.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering.
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in business administration, project management, or a related field (or equivalent experience) are highly desired.
Experience:
Proven experience in administrative or project-related roles.
Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Trello, Asana, or similar tools).
o Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Note)
o Data Analysis software - JMP, Minitab desired
Soft Skills:
o Excellent organizational and time management skills.
o Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
o Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
o Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
o Self-motivated, self-directed.
o Extreme ownership.
o Safety conscious.
 
Hands on Involvement: About 50% office work and 50% on the floor, assisting teams and ensuring timely material delivery.
 
Technical Background: Required mainly for understanding parts and processes not for heavy mechanical work.

Preferred Qualifications/Certifications:
• Certification in project management (e.g., CAPM, PMP) is a plus.
• Experience in Optical Cable industry-related projects.
• OSHA Safety certification is desired.
• Degree preferred but not mandatory.
• Without a degree: 5+ years of experience.
• With a degree: Bachelor's or higher, experience flexible
 
Desired Traits: Proactive, Team oriented, preferably with a manufacturing background.
Work Environment:
• Part floor and part office-based hybrid role; occasional travel may be required depending on project needs.
• Fast-paced environment requiring multitasking and adaptability.
• Clean Room environment requiring careful handling and management of areas
