Job Summary
We are seeking a safety-focused Dry Fertilizer River Terminal Equipment Operator to support daily terminal operations by operating equipment, moving product, maintaining accurate records, and helping ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality fertilizer handling.
This role is responsible for loading, unloading, blending, and handling dry fertilizer products at the river terminal. The operator will use terminal equipment and material-handling machinery while following safety, environmental, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate conveyors, blend systems, loaders, forklifts, skid loaders, and other terminal equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load, unload, blend, and move dry fertilizer from barges, railcars, trucks, and loadout bays while maintaining product quality.
  • Inspect equipment, perform basic maintenance, and report or assist with troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Follow safety procedures, environmental standards, regulatory requirements, and required training practices.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, logistics, operations, and team members to support inventory accuracy and timely product movement.
  • Maintain accurate daily records, including product quantities, equipment use, and operational reporting information.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe through routine housekeeping.
  • Monitor weather and adjust operations as needed to protect product quality and workplace safety.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of industrial, agricultural, terminal, or heavy-equipment operation experience preferred.
  • Experience operating loaders, conveyors, forklifts, or similar equipment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance support.
  • Strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and quality standards.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
