Job description

HOUSTON, TX (LOCAL CANDIDATES PREFERRED) – A warm, active, and highly engaged family in the Memorial area is seeking an exceptional full-time nanny/household support professional to join their home in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. This is a long-term opportunity for candidates who are deeply invested in child development and take pride in creating a structured, nurturing, and engaging environment for their 4 young children under the age of 6.

This is a dynamic, fast-paced household led by hands-on parents who are highly present in their children’s lives. The family is seeking professionals who bring intention, energy, and consistency to their work, and who value being part of a cohesive, supportive team.

The schedule is Monday through Thursday. Guaranteed full-time hours, and the candidate will operate in close partnership with the weekend nanny to ensure seamless continuity of care.

Typical hours fall between 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM, with a primary focus on coordinating after-school activities, and confidently leading structured and consistent evening routines. Candidates must be equally comfortable collaborating closely with parents and team members, while also taking initiative and anticipating needs independently.

This role extends beyond traditional childcare. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly engaged, and takes genuine pride in being a steady, positive influence in children’s daily lives. Responsibilities include providing individualized attention across multiple children, planning enriching and developmentally appropriate activities, maintaining organization of children’s spaces and belongings, and contributing thoughtfully to the overall flow of the household.

The family maintains an active lifestyle and travels regularly throughout the year, including extended periods during the summer and additional trips across multiple residences. Candidates must be travel-ready, adaptable, and confident in maintaining structure and consistency for the children in changing environments. Private accommodations and access to a vehicle are provided during travel. The family does spend extended time in different locations during the summer months, so candidates should be open to 4-6 weeks away, or be flexible for rotating weeks with the other nanny to accommodate the summer schedule.

The household is fully staffed, allowing this role to remain primarily child-focused; however, a strong sense of ownership and teamwork is essential. Ideal candidates will naturally step in to support the home as needed, including children’s laundry, organization, and proactively identifying ways to create ease and efficiency within the household.

The right candidate is high-energy, organized, and deeply engaged. They are confident in managing multiple children, skilled at setting clear and consistent boundaries with warmth, and intuitively step in where needed. They thrive in a collaborative environment, remain calm and solutions-oriented under pressure, and bring a genuine love for working with children—not simply supervising, but guiding and investing in their growth.

This position is best suited for candidates who enjoy an active, hands-on approach, are comfortable with flexibility in scheduling, and are fully open to travel and occasional overnight support with advance notice.

This is a long-term opportunity with a family who values professionalism, partnership, and meaningful contribution. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, ranging from $30-40+/hour gross via payroll, along with guaranteed full-time hours, industry-standard PTO and sick days, and a respectful, team-oriented work environment.
