Job Overview

Legacy Supply Chain's freight brokerage division is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Carrier Sales Representative that will help support our growth and expand our partner carrier base. This position includes a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match. 

Schedule and Compensation
  • Weekend & Afterhours Shift (3pm-11pm EST or 10am-8pm PST) Friday-Tuesday 
  • Competitive annual salary based on experience
Job Details

What to expect as a Carrier Sales Representative: 

  • Source carriers to arrange for transportation of clients' cargo
  • Negotiate freight rates with carriers
  • Drive daily outbound outreach by making 40+ proactive phone calls to prospects to build a strong and consistent pipeline.
  • Maintain a high level of activity and followup by managing call lists, completing detailed call notes, and staying disciplined with daily contact targets
  • Track and trace shipments, troubleshoot shipment issues
  • Build excellent rapport with partner carriers to promote Legacy as a fair business partner
  • Work closely with Sales to understand clients' transportation needs
  • Research carriers to identify potential business partners
  • Maintain solid understanding of market conditions and carrier pricing trends

Qualifications:

  • Energetic, relentless, and thriving in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent negotiator and communicator with a great phone presence
  • Resourceful and constructive problem solver
  • Proficient in Outlook; intermediate in Excel and Word
  • Able to quickly learn to work with various web applications
  • Experience in transportation/brokerage industry an asset, ability and willingness to learn
