Job description

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The Help Desk Technician, based at our Corporate Headquarters in Reno, Nevada, is a pivotal role in delivering exceptional technical support to our users. You will be working in a dynamic team environment in a modern, clean office. Our Help Desk Technicians address and resolve technical issues, ensuring that our employees can efficiently utilize computer systems, software, and hardware.

Reporting to our IT Infrastructure Manager, you’ll primarily work with a talented team of Computer Support Specialists and Systems Administrators within our infrastructure department. You will work with computer users throughout the company and outside vendors.

A highlight of your day-to-day will include:

  • Hardware/Software Installations: Set up and install cables, operating systems, software, hardware, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications; enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors.
  • Support Requests: Resolve software or hardware operation issues; guide users through troubleshooting procedures and develop troubleshooting scripts.
  • Record Keeping: Record daily data communication transactions, problems, remedial actions taken, and installation activities.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the infrastructure team to analyze, modify, and test computer systems and programs based on users and system specifications. Prepare evaluations of software or hardware and recommend improvements or upgrades.
  • Security Awareness: Maintain a secure IT environment, fostering a culture of security consciousness within the company.
  • Customer Service: Provide professional communication and excellent customer service when interacting with both internal and external stakeholders.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You’re enthusiastic and motivated in a fast-paced environment. You have demonstrated knowledge of IT security practices and a commitment to maintaining a secure IT environment. You’re a lifelong learner with a combination of formal education (CompTIA A+ certification preferred) and 1 - 2 years of solid on-the-job experience including VOIP and Office 365 programs. If you have a passion for IT, troubleshooting expertise, and the skills to provide top-notch technical support, we want to hear from you.

We’re open to individuals who aren’t just looking for their next job, they’re looking to build a career. You want an opportunity to showcase your skill set with a solid company who will invest in you. In our culture – everyone matters.

ALL ABOUT JENSEN INFRASTRUCTURE

Much like you, our founder, Don Jensen was looking for a way to support his family, so he started his Company in 1968. Since founded, we’ve been supporting communities across Nevada, California, Arizona, Washington, Missouri, and Hawaii.

Jensen Infrastructure likely has an impact on your daily life.  We build culverts to take water away from your neighborhoods, underground utility boxes to hold cables, and manholes to allow workers access to the sewers deep below the roads we drive on. And that’s just a small sample of what we do at Jensen on a daily basis.

When you work at one of Jensen’s many locations, you will enjoy the close relationships and camaraderie of a small company while being part of a larger, well-established, growing company.

We are committed to ensuring employment practices that promote equal opportunities. Please let us know if you require any reasonable accommodations during your interview process.

If there is an offer, the salary presented will consider several factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, training, and internal equity. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Jensen Infrastructure. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) with match, PTO, and paid holidays.
