Job description

POSITION: Health Educator

REPORTS TO: Nutrition & Education Programs Supervisor

If you're passionate about healthy eating and active living and have the training and skills to help individuals and groups of all ages, come join the Nutrition and Education team at Adagio Health! Adagio Health is looking to hire a full-time Health Educator for its Langley office in Pittsburgh, PA to serve Allegheny County partners. The pay for this position is $19.40/hour.

Adagio Health is seeking an energetic Health Educator to join the Nutrition & Education Department. The Health Educator will support the implementation of:

  1. Teen Outreach Program (TOP)- a social-emotional learning curricula designed for middle and high school youth.
  2. Healthy Relationships Toolkit (HeaRT)- CDC-developed model to prevent violence in adolescence that teaches 11 to 14-year-olds healthy relationship skills to prevent violence before it starts.
  3. Additional programs related to public health as applicable, including substance abuse education

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Initiates and delivers education in a variety of settings.
  2. Ensures curricula is delivered as intended following program guidance and guidelines.
  3. Delivers engaging, interactive, and concise lessons.
  4. Builds relationships with program partners to enhance program delivery and effectiveness.
  5. Maintains regular communication with program partners.
  6. Initiates, leads, and provides technical assistance on supporting projects based partner needs.
  7. Delivers indirect channels.
  8. Completes all required documentation, data tracking, and data entry by determined deadlines.
  9. Provides high quality customer service and participant recruitment in coordination with other Adagio Health initiatives as appropriate.
  10. Collaborates with other educators to share ideas.
  11. Works/travels in any offices as needed.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BS degree in public health, education, nutrition or a related field. Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to: develop, provide and evaluate education programming. Experience in youth education in a school setting and in public health is desirable. Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable car. Travel is required on a regular basis.
