What You'll Do
  • Develop a general knowledge with all Rolling Mill systems so as to recognize offset conditions and assist to implement corrective actions, changes or adjustments to maintain effective Rolling Mill operations
  • Direct bundling operation to ensure correct bundle piece counts and number and position of ties
  • Obtains information concerning order specifications, rolling sequences, piece counts, product length and bundling perimeters, etc
  • Makes minor adjustment to bundling sequence, ie, tyers, back stops, position on surge table, etc
  • Become proficient in using all other equipment and tools (crane rigging and operations; torch, grinder and pneumatic tools; other hand tools; Mill Operation Systems, eg, QMOS, OWS, etc) to maintain effective Rolling Mill operations
  • Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
  • Troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others
  • Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
  • Work safely to prevent on the job injuries by always following safety rules and regulations including proper wearing of company PPE
  • Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures

What You'll Need
  • Minimum 1 year field experience in either heavy industrial operations and/or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Steel industry experience is preferred
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for duration of shift; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shift
  • Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment with strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work a 12 hour shift, which includes overtime, weekends and holidays
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must be able to learn quickly and multitask
  • Strong communication skills required. Must read, speak and understand English language in verbal and written communication

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
