Job description

Senior Fullstack Engineer

New York, NY • Full-time · In-Person

About the Job

We're building the AI-native compliance platform that will redefine the industry. Comp AI launched in April 2025 and crossed $1.2M ARR with a team of ten. We automate security and compliance (SOC 2, ISO, HIPAA, GDPR) using AI agents that handle evidence collection, policies, and audits—turning months-long processes into days.

We're looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer who's hungry, technical, and ready to own features from concept to production. You'll work directly with founders, shape core product decisions, and build the infrastructure that scales us to nine figures.

What You'll Do
  • Own end-to-end features: design, backend, frontend, deployment—you ship complete solutions
  • Build AI-powered workflows: implement RAG pipelines, vector databases, embeddings, and LLM orchestration into production systems
  • Ship fast with high standards: iterate quickly while maintaining code quality and user experience
  • Solve problems proactively: identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies before they're assigned, then fix them
  • Work directly with founders: collaborate on high-leverage projects that move the business forward
  • Mentor and set technical standards: as one of the early engineers, your decisions shape how we build
Tech Stack

Next.js, React, TypeScript, Node.js, Postgres, Prisma, AWS, Trigger.dev

What We're Looking For Required:
  • 4+ years of fullstack engineering experience with proven track record building modern web applications end-to-end
  • Deep understanding of AI implementation beyond basic prompts—you know how to integrate LLMs, embeddings, and vector databases into production systems
  • Self-driven problem solver who thrives with minimal direction
  • Detail-obsessed: your code is clean, your UIs feel polished, your features work reliably
  • Located in or willing to relocate to NYC for in-person collaboration
  • Legal U.S. work authorization
Mindset:
  • You move fast and care deeply about what you build
  • You prefer direct feedback and zero bureaucracy
  • You're energized by high standards and intense output
  • You understand that building something great requires flexibility—some late nights, occasional weekends when it matters
  • You take ownership: if something's broken or could be better, you fix it without being asked
Dealbreakers (Do NOT Apply If)
  • You can't provide examples of production applications you've built
  • You require remote work or flexible scheduling
  • You view this as a standard 9-to-5 role
  • You need significant hand-holding or structured management
  • You lack U.S. work authorization
Compensation & Equity
  • Base salary: $140K–$170K (based on experience)
  • Equity: 0.25%–0.75% early-stage ownership
  • Real upside in a fast-growing company with clear product-market fit
Culture & Perks

We're direct, intense, and focused on output. We also know how to celebrate wins:

  • Epic offsites (F1 in Miami, yacht days, team adventures)
  • Free lunches, unlimited snacks & drinks
  • New Manhattan HQ launching soon
  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with founders who ship daily

This isn't a corporate job with performance reviews and org charts. It's an early-stage opportunity where your work directly shapes the company's trajectory. If you want rapid growth, real ownership, and the chance to build something significant—this is it.
