Job Title: EMT Security Officer
Location: Park Springs - Stone Mountain, GA
Shifts: PRN, Night & Weekends (12-hour shifts)
Reports To: Security & Safety Manager
The EMT Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and security of Park Springs members, guests, and staff. This position responds to medical emergencies, provides immediate care within the scope of an EMT certification, and supports overall community safety. The EMT Officer also assists in maintaining a secure environment by working collaboratively with the Safety and Security team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond promptly and effectively to all medical emergencies within the community.
  • Assess patients' conditions, provide appropriate emergency care, and determine next steps for treatment or transport.
  • Administer basic life support (BLS), CPR, first aid, oxygen therapy, and other emergency interventions within EMT scope of practice.
  • Coordinate patient transport to medical facilities and communicate patient status to receiving healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all incidents, patient care, and emergency responses.
  • Assist in safety and security operations, including patrolling the community, monitoring access, and responding to incidents.
  • Ensure all medical equipment, supplies, and emergency vehicles are properly maintained and ready for use.
  • Promote a safe and supportive environment by following all safety protocols, HIPAA regulations, and state/local EMS guidelines.
  • Provide reassurance and compassionate support to residents, members, and families during emergencies.
  • Participate in ongoing training, safety drills, and continuing education to maintain EMT certification and readiness.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current State of Georgia EMT Certification required.
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification required.
  • Previous EMT or emergency response experience preferred, especially in healthcare or senior living settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond quickly in emergency situations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
