Job title: Operations Manager, Warehouse and Service

Job Location: 1111 Lakeside Dr., Gurnee, IL 60031

Minimum Salary: $150,010 - $155,000 per year

Supervision Required: Position will supervise other employees

Travel Required: 25% domestic travel annually to visit third party repair vendors and/or customers in California and Indiana.

Job duties: Oversee the daily operations of the service department, warehouse, and logistics functions to ensure the accurate processing and timely delivery of customer orders. Manage and supervise service department activities, including scheduling and monitoring service requests, allocating resources, addressing customer inquiries and complaints, and overseeing departmental budgeting. Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), conduct staff evaluations, and implement continuous improvements to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and applicable local, state, and federal laws. Supervise the activities of personnel engaged in receiving, storing, testing, and shipping products or materials. Plan, develop, and implement warehouse safety and security programs, and regularly inspect the physical condition of warehouses, vehicles, and equipment, initiating maintenance, repairs, or replacements as needed. Interview, select, and train warehouse and supervisory personnel, and maintain performance records, safety logs, and training documentation. Monitor inventory levels to ensure accuracy, appropriate storage conditions, and timely order fulfillment. Manage the warehouse budget, track costs, and recommend capital expenditures for new equipment or property to improve efficiency and service delivery. Evaluate contractors and vendors for operational effectiveness, and negotiate with carriers, warehouse operators, and insurance companies for service agreements and preferential rates. Collaborate with other departments-such as sales, order management, accounting, and purchasing-to integrate logistics and warehouse operations with broader business processes. Analyze logistics functions to identify cost-effective transportation and distribution strategies. Resolve issues related to transportation, customer service, imports/exports, and logistics systems. Direct inbound and outbound logistics operations, including transportation planning, delivery coordination, route optimization, and quality management. Ensure the availability of transportation resources and compliance with customs, environmental, and safety regulations. Monitor product import/export processes for regulatory compliance and review related documentation, such as shipping manifests and invoices, for accuracy and tariff adherence. Regularly assess the financial impact of logistics decisions, including routing, shipping modes, product volume changes, and carrier selections. Establish and monitor supply chain-based performance measurement systems, recommend process improvements, and oversee the implementation of internal and external operational enhancements. Maintain effective communication with stakeholders across departments, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for service, warehouse, and logistics staff.

Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related plus 5 years of experience in a supply chain or quality engineering environment. Requires skills and experience in the following:

  • 5 years of direct experience with project management and data analytics.
  • 3 years of experience managing vendors of third-party repair centers to include measuring vendor performance (through the creation of reports and data) and inventory.
  • 3 years of experience creating and maintaining web-based data-entry systems.
  • Proficient with data entry and creating metrics and sustain complicated reports and systems that interface between the customer and organization.
  • Strong knowledge in supply chain/logistics and ability to communicate with end users.
  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial monitoring for service operations.
  • Proficient in tracking, analyzing, and reporting on KPIs to assess department performance.
  • Skilled in implementing continuous improvement strategies to optimize service operations.
  • Experienced in managing warehouse budgets, monitoring costs, and ensuring operations remain within financial constraints.
  • Capable of assessing warehouse performance using KPIs and implementing necessary improvements.
  • Knowledgeable in tools and strategies to optimize delivery routes for cost-effective and timely product delivery.
  • Experienced in forecasting, monitoring, and managing the logistics department budget.
  • Familiar with logistics regulations and standards to ensure compliance in transportation and delivery activities.

Pay Range:
