Job description

Job Title:

Senior Web Content Coordinator

Physical Location:

Kent Campus - Kent, OH

Salary:

$59,961 - $73,182

Basic Function:

Guide, build and optimize university websites and digital experiences that support Kent State University's institutional goals, brand standards and audience needs. Responsible for web content strategy, information architecture, webpage composition and content optimization across Kent State's digital ecosystem. Support the evolution of Kent State's digital experience through data-informed decision making, emerging AI technologies and modern search optimization. Reports to the Executive Director, Digital Communications.

Examples of Duties:
  • Serve as the senior web/digital content strategist for assigned enterprise websites and university initiatives, planning, building and optimizing webpages and digital experiences that align with institutional priorities, audience needs and brand standards.
  • Develop information architecture, navigation structures and webpage composition; build webpages that improve usability, accessibility and engagement utilizing existing enterprise web components and recommending new delivery options.
  • Guide campus partners in organization, building and optimization of webpages and content across institutional websites, enterprise communication systems and student engagement platforms.
  • Provide strategic consultation on webpage organization, content governance, digital storytelling and effective use of enterprise web components.
  • Develop project plans and timelines for enterprise web initiatives; lead special projects by coordinating campus partners, managing deliverables and ensuring projects are completed on schedule and aligned with institutional priorities.
  • Contribute to web content strategies supporting digital transformation initiatives, AI-assisted search, personalized digital experiences and evolving search practices.
  • Write, edit and organize web content that is clear, accessible, engaging and visually cohesive.
  • Analyze web analytics, search behavior and engagement data to identify opportunities for webpage and digital platform optimization.
  • Establish performance goals and measurement frameworks using analytics tools to evaluate audience engagement, discoverability and content effectiveness.
  • Guide optimization initiatives that improve discoverability across search engines, AI-powered search platforms, and emerging online discovery technologies.
  • Participate in usability testing, audience research and continuous digital experience improvements.
  • Analyze and/or prepare dashboards and reports summarizing digital performance and recommendations.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, business or related field and three years of relevant experience.

OR

Seven years of progressively responsible experience in web content strategy, digital experience, enterprise website management or digital communications.
