Job Description
As a member of the UCLA IT Services team, the Senior UI Front End Developer will initially be assigned to the Enterprise Faculty Information System (Opus) project and will have responsibility for the application development life-cycle from initial design through implementation and integration. Typical duties include facilitation and participation of JAD sessions, functional analysis, design of complex to extremely complex application and comprehensive testing such as unit, systems, integration, user acceptance and load balancing tests to ensure proper functionality and system performance. The Developer will work closely with business, information and technical architects and requires the ability to interact with technical and functional staff at all levels. The incumbent will also have responsibility for hands-on development of application and guiding the efforts of less experienced programmers.
We are looking for a senior level person who can take a broader look at how Opus' front-end is structured and advise/mentor on process, standards, methodologies, etc. and help assess our current and future technology choices.
Qualifications
Required
  • Experience with UI for large enterprise applications, organizing/structuring large projects, assessing technical needs, knowledge and experience with latest web technologies, choosing appropriate technologies and tools as appropriate for our project, comfortable setting standards, methodologies and process
  • Expert in JavaScript/JQuery, HTML, CSS
  • MVC for front end development (Angular JS, others)
  • Object Oriented JavaScript
  • JSON
  • AJAX
  • Cross browser compatibility, web accessibility, and Responsive Web Design principles
