Job Description
The Waste Stream Treatment Technician will be responsible for all waste streams, obtaining quotes and purchasing inventory for waste operations. The waste streams component will cover the segregation of the various streams, sale, treatment and or disposal, housekeeping and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. This role involves applying mechanical/technical expertise in determining work methods and procedures for processing waste streams and producing quality product. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

streams component will cover the segregation of the various streams, sale, treatment and or disposal, housekeeping and ensuring compliance with relevant
legislation. This role involves applying mechanical/technical expertise in determining work methods and procedures for processing waste streams and producing
quality product. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Position Summary:
• Follow, without exception, all work instructions and safety policies, including use of all PPE and safety equipment
• Experience in treating Industrial waste is preferred
• Treat industrial wastewater from tote and drum cleaning operations
• Examine machine controls at start up for production.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on all Waste stream production equipment and machinery
• Test incoming waste stream multiple times daily - both pH and jar testing
• Modify chemicals used in acid cracking process to be the most effective and efficient in chemical usage
• Keep track of inventory of chemicals onsite and assist in ordering process
• Ensure all company policies and EPA requirements are met daily
• Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing and support processes to create cost reductions and improve operational
performance Validate implemented manufacturing process improvements to ensure desired results and sustainability
• Investigate operational problems affecting production.
• Install and wire industrial automation line controls and integrate with existing network, as directed/assisted by the Maintenance Manager
• Perform repairs on electrical or electronic instruments as directed/assisted by the Maintenance Manager
• Troubleshoot electrical control and distribution systems to include 24vac, 120vac, and 480vac
• PLC troubleshooting knowledge, huge plus if you can program
• Ability to repair basic mechanical components and replace parts on machines such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges and switches
• Observe and listen to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of problem
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments
• Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements
• Lubricate and clean machinery and support equipment to maintain housekeeping and preventive maintenance standards within the plant
• Document and track changeover times and record
• Accomplish all work orders to maintain safety; reduce downtime; decrease scrap; improve quality production; and improve plant efficiency
• Follows all safety rules and procedures including Lockout/Tagout program, housekeeping, and 5S standards and observes the operations to
ensure a safe work environment Track waste stream and reduce waste streams where possible.
• Track scrap plastic sales and ensure correct weights and prices are applied.
• Assist with equipment or automation installation work as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements
• Minimum high school diploma or GED required
• Prefer Associates/Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Technical Trades/Maintenance related field - wastewater treatment experience a plus
3-5 years' experience in a wastewater treatment and procurement experience within a manufacturing environment; or equivalent
combination of training and experience
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, attend and participate in safety meetings, as well as promoting preventative maintenance to
management and production associates Supports Lean Manufacturing, and other company directives and/or projects
• Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blueprints, schematics, charts, diagrams, etc.
• Ability to use precision measuring devices including amp meters, electric meters, and hydraulic gauges
• Basic understanding of systems, equipment and schematics
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Good
troubleshooting skills
• Basic mathematical skills used to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use decimals and fractions
• Ability to perform work in a mature and professional manner, demonstrate personal responsibility, and perform all assigned duties
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong computer skills
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to be on feet up to 8-12 hours per shift
• Use of hands and fingers to perform job function
• Ability to stoop, kneel, bend and climb
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, 90+ degrees
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
