Job description

CLASS SUMMARY The City of Spokane invites applications for the position of Temp Seasonal - Waste to Energy Grounds Laborer This position will work under the direction of the Operations Superintendent or their designated representative. All Uniforms, PPE, tools and necessary equipment will be provided by the City of Spokane Waste to Energy (WTE) Department. This position will require a pre-hire physical and subsequent inclusion in the WTE medical surveillance program.

EXAMPLES OF JOB FUNCTIONS The following responsibilities and requirements are functions the individual who holds or desires the position must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation. Litter control. Vegetation trimming.

General indoor and outdoor cleaning. General painting. General labor.

Related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Must be physically able to stand/stoop/bend/lift/walk around the facility for the entire shift. Enough manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment. Tolerance of work under adverse conditions such as outdoors in heat and cold.

Must have a valid driver's license with no restrictions. This role is considered a safety-sensitive position for which impairment while working presents a substantial risk of death. You must successfully complete a selection process that includes interviews, a criminal background check, a pre-employment drug screen, reference verifications, aptitude tests (for some positions) and a physical and lift test (for some positions).
