The Machine Operator sets up and operates various machines to process sales orders to the customer's specifications.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities of this job are included but not limited to this job description - other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed.

  • Lathe Machine Operator: Sets up and operates either a numerically controlled horizontal lathe, or turret or engine lathe, to perform one of a series of repetitive operations such as turning, boring, threading or facing of metal work pieces according to specifications on an altered basis.
  • Flame cut Operator: Sets up and operates burn bore torch/flame splitting trolley.
  • Induction/Flame Hardening machine operator: Sets up and operates induction/flame hardening machines according to set procedures to harden and anneal work pieces Interface with suppliers.
  • P.T.U.C. Operator: Assembles discos, sets speed limits, and loads.
  • Drill & Tap Machine Operator: Sets up and operates mechanical drilling machine to perform machining such as drilling, reaming, countersinking, spot facing, and tapping of holes in metal work pieces according to specifications, standards charts and knowledge of machining procedures.
  • Finishing/Paint Machine Operator: Cleans/removes all residues from parts prior to finishing. Sprays surfaces of metal work pieces with paint. Operates sandblasting machine. Operates washing machine, operates stamping machine. Makes labels, operates ballsizer. Delivers finish goods to shipping.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Other tasks, functions, and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be able to perform a large variety of job duties and be willing to learn new skills
  • Must be able to foster and support a team work environment, placing a high emphasis on excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize work based on deadlines with high attention to detail.ย ย 
  • Good problem-solving skills and a general mechanical aptitude required
  • A sense of urgency required.
