The Role
We're looking for a Warehouse Lead to help run the day-to-day of our Beaver Dam warehouse — keeping inventory organized and accurate, orders moving out the door on time, and our small team supported and set up to do good work. This is a hands-on role: you'll be doing the work alongside your team, not just overseeing it, and you'll be someone the rest of us can count on to keep things running smoothly.
What You'll Do
• Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, inspecting, and putting away inventory against purchase orders
• Pick, pack, and ship direct-to-consumer orders through our Shopify fulfillment workflow, and prepare wholesale orders to meet retailer routing and packing requirements (including Faire shipments)
• Maintain SKU-level inventory accuracy in our system, and perform regular cycle counts to catch and correct discrepancies before they show up in a stock-out or an oversell
• Process returns and damaged goods, and track shrinkage/damage trends to flag recurring issues
• Guide and coordinate daily task assignments for other warehouse team members, and train new team members on our receiving, picking, and packing procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse, including safe use of pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other basic material-handling equipment, and safe lifting/stacking practices
• Coordinate with our studio team on day-to-day shared-space logistics
• Help the team scale up smoothly during high-volume periods — holiday fulfillment, new product launches, and our seasonal Warehouse Sale events — including temporary layout and staffing adjustments
• Stay flexible for the pace of a growing, startup-stage brand — pop-up shops, community events, and other one-off occurrences come up regularly, and this role needs to be able to shift gears and pitch in as priorities change
• Track basic operational metrics (order accuracy, on-time ship rate, inventory discrepancies) and flag trends to leadership
• Spot opportunities to improve receiving, picking, packing, or storage processes, and help implement changes once agreed
What We're Looking For
• Previous warehouse, inventory, or fulfillment experience required — supervisory experience a plus, but not required if you're ready to step into it
• Hands-on experience with order fulfillment or inventory management system (Shopify experience a plus)
• Comfortable with basic warehouse equipment — pallet jacks, hand trucks, box cutters, strapping/banding tools; forklift certification a plus but not required
• Understanding of cycle counting and basic inventory reconciliation practices
• Comfortable lifting 40+ lbs and staying on your feet and moving for extended periods
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and others can rely on to catch errors before they become problems
• A clear communicator who can lead by example, not just by instruction
• Genuinely flexible and comfortable with change — we're a startup, and day-to-day can shift with pop-up events, sales, and other one-off occurrences on top of regular warehouse operations
• Basic computer literacy, including comfort with spreadsheets and learning new software systems
• A genuine team-first attitude — we're a small, close-knit group, and we look out for each other
