The Manager, Accounting - Beauty supports the CFO in overseeing daily accounting operations across multiple PCA entities. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational financial discipline while managing a small accounting team and partnering with warehouse leadership.

This position is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a high-volume distribution and inventory-driven environment and is ready to grow into a future Controller-level role. This role operates in a warehouse-adjacent office environment where safety, environmental, and operational considerations require consistent attention.

This is an in-house role, working Monday - Friday 9am-6pm (Ronkonkoma, NY)

Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations

  • Manage daily accounting functions including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition
  • Support month-end and year-end close across multiple PCA entities
  • Ensure timely bank reconciliations and balance sheet integrity
  • Maintain quality control over financial transactions and reporting accuracy

Financial Planning & Reporting

  • Assist with preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance reporting
  • Provide operational financial reporting to warehouse and brand teams
  • Support regulatory reporting and audit preparation
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance with GAAP and international requirements

Compliance & Controls

  • Manage and comply with Sales Tax filings (U.S. and International)
  • Document and improve accounting processes and internal controls
  • Support inventory analysis and margin reporting for PCA’s distribution operations
  • Partner with HR and Operations on payroll allocations, overtime tracking, and warehouse labor reporting

Team & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Supervise accounting staff as assigned
  • Partner with warehouse management to ensure accurate inventory and cost reporting
  • Collaborate with TriNet, ADP, auditors, and external partners as needed

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Oversight of assigned accounting staff and coordination with Warehouse Management teams on inventory reporting

Physical Demands
While performing duties, the employee may need to:

  • Read, count, and write for documentation accuracy
  • Operate necessary office equipment
  • Move materials up to 50 lbs. as needed for inventory verification
  • (Consistent with warehouse-support roles within PCA operations.)

Qualifications
Required

  • 4+ years' experience in accounting or finance leadership (Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, inventory accounting, and detailed financial analysis
  • Experience in beauty, cosmetics, wellness, retail, e-commerce, or consumer brands strongly preferred
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills and ERP experience
  • Knowledge of sales tax compliance (U.S. and international preferred)

Preferred

  • CPA or CPA-track.
  • Experience in beauty, distribution, logistics, or e-commerce environments.
  • Experience working with ADP, TriNet, or similar payroll/benefits platforms (common in PCA operations).
