DESCRIPTION
The Vice President, Shared Services will be responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and performance of the Shared Services organization (> 60 team members), including Payroll, Billing, Accounts Payable, Procurement, and Travel. This role ensures the delivery of accurate, efficient, and compliant services across all functions while driving process standardization, system integration, and continuous improvement. Leads the organization's Shared Services transformation, including the implementation and optimization of Oracle Cloud ERP. Develops and implements strategies, internal controls, and operating procedures to support scalable and efficient service delivery across all business units and locations.
NOTE: Candidates must reside in the EST time zone and MUST HAVE experience with ORACLE FUSION CLOUD, enterprise-wide ERP implementations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Enterprise Leadership
  • Provide strategic direction and operational leadership for all Shared Services functions, including Payroll, Billing, Accounts Payable, Cash Applications, Procurement, and Travel
  • Partner closely with Finance, HR, IT, and Operations leaders to align shared services with enterprise priorities
  • Establish a high-performance culture focused on accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Lead Shared Services integration efforts for future acquisitions

ERP Transformation & Process Optimization
  • Lead Shared Services strategy and execution for the implementation and optimization of Oracle Cloud ERP and other financial systems including Payroll (ADP), T&E (Emburse/Egencia), etc.
  • Drive standardization and integration of processes across functions and business units
  • Evaluate and redesign end-to-end processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
  • Champion automation, digital transformation, and data-driven decision making

Operational Excellence
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing across all shared services functions, including payroll, billing, procure-to-pay, and travel expenses
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls, policies, and governance frameworks
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting dashboards to monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex operational or client-related issues

Financial Stewardship & Cost Optimization
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across shared services operations
  • Optimize service delivery through innovative staffing models
  • Align operational performance with broader financial objectives, including working capital and expense management

Functional Oversight
  • Payroll: Ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across domestic and international payroll operations
  • Billing: Drive efficient billing processes that maximizes cash flow and supports strong internal and external client relationships.
  • Procurement: Oversee sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation to ensure cost-effective, high-quality service delivery
  • Accounts Payable & Travel: Ensure timely payments, policy compliance, and effective expense management

Talent & Organization Development
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Shared Services organization
  • Assess and upgrade talent to meet evolving organizational needs
  • Drive workforce transformation, including upskilling and leadership development
  • Foster engagement, collaboration, and continuous improvement across teams

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly and indirectly supervise Shared Services leadership and staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in Shared Services, Finance, or Operations, including leadership responsibility.
  • MUST HAVE experience with ORACLE FUSION CLOUD, enterprise-wide ERP implementations.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CPP) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll, billing, accounts payable, procurement, and travel processes
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Experience with systems integration and process improvement initiatives
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment
  • Hands-on leadership approach with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels

COMPENSATION
The approximate base compensation range for this position is $225,000-$250,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
