The Vice President, Acquisition Team Manager plays a critical role in driving Ascent's strategic growth by leading and scaling a high-performing team of individual contributors responsible for originating new client relationships and actively participating in client acquisition efforts across existing and expansion markets. This role is responsible for managing and developing a high-performing Client Acquisition Team while also serving as a hands-on contributor through direct cold calling and selling of Ascent's platform.
The VP will leverage internal and external data sources to identify, evaluate, and convert prospective clients, working closely with senior leadership and cross-divisional partners to refine Ascent's value proposition and go-to-market strategy.

Success requires the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, lead with integrity, and exercise sound professional judgment when handling sensitive business information.
Key Responsibilities.
  • Lead and manage the Client Acquisition Team, whose primary responsibility is cold calling and selling the Ascent platform to prospective clients, often serving as the first point of contact from the Sales organization.
  • Serve in a working management capacity by personally engaging in cold calling, prospecting, and closing new client opportunities.
  • Leverage, enhance, source, validate, and integrate internal and external data tools to support client acquisition and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Identify and evaluate prospective clients using both qualitative insights and quantitative analysis.
  • Develop and maintain robust metrics and reporting related to outreach activity, conversion timing, pipeline health, data integrity, and client feedback.
  • Systematically capture and report key market intelligence from prospect conversations, including insights on geographic markets, lending products, competitive landscape, and borrower strategies.
  • Translate market intelligence into actionable recommendations to inform and refine sector and expansion strategies.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Acquisition Team Associates, fostering a performance-driven, entrepreneurial culture.
  • Collaborate closely with senior executives and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with firm-wide growth priorities.

Professional Experience/Qualifications.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven success in a professional sales role with significant cold-calling and outbound prospecting experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing, coaching, and scaling high-performing sales individual contributors.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to drive decisions and performance.
  • Highly effective communicator with strong presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-growing, collaborative environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

The Work Environment
  • This role works on-site from Ascent's Encino office, Monday - Thursday (Fridays are work-from-home).
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week; must be available for occasional overtime.
  • Some nights and weekends required.

Salary Range:
  • $150,000 - $175,000 with 20% bonus target
