Job description

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

Person will be responsible for but not limited to the following job duties and have said qualities: All aspects of the election process. Must be self-motivated, attentive to detail and possess multiple computer skills. Must be able to coordinate with the County Clerk/Chief Deputy on job duties. Planning and problem resolution, training poll officials and polling location preparation/scheduling. This position cares for and maintains electronic tabulating machines (voting machines), tubs and ballot boxes, and voting machine keys; and schedules machines for delivery and pick up. This employee organizes voting machines for certification and test votes machines for functionality. This position registers and assists voters and performs routine maintenance of voter file, respond to requests from the public, issue voter related material and be able to read, understand and implement NM Statutes. Must be able to read a map and determine precinct/district assignments. Assist the absentee early voting board during elections.

Will be required to assist and work with the public and co-workers in all aspects of the Clerkโ€™s Office including but not limited to answering the telephone, issuance of marriage licenses, real estate filings and scanning of documents. Employee may work alone, with or without direction, with one or two people, with a large number of people, or with the public. Must become a certified voting machine technician (training provided). Employee will be required to work irregular hours, attend job related meetings, and perform other duties as assigned.
