Project / Product Manager
Expected Salary Range: $120,000-$150,000 per year

At DGS, we are one team, working together to develop mission solutions - anywhere, anytime.
The Project / Product Manager manages specialized federal government manufacturing projects and product delivery from inception through completion. For projects that include mobile sensitive compartmented information facilities (SCIFs), radio frequency (RF) and acoustic attenuation products, expeditionary containerized defense and intelligence solutions, and other deployable mission critical facilities, the Project / Product Manager ensures alignment with organizational goals, customer requirements, operational constraints, budgets and schedules. The Project / Product Manager leads the development of bids and proposals, cost estimates, and detailed project schedules while effectively balancing scope, budget, resources, and timelines. During project execution, the Project / Product Manager performs or oversees all tasks and planning necessary to ensure successful project completion. As operational needs dictate, the Project / Product Manager conducts site surveys, leads product installations, supports customer visits to company properties and contributes expertise to company projects in other areas.
Duties and Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  • Perform project management functions from concept development through delivery of manufactured products and related services under federal government contracts.
  • Create bids, proposals, and quotes in collaboration with company technical experts.
  • Create accurate project schedules, identify critical paths, and appropriately mitigate schedule risk.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and logistics personnel to ensure all project materials are ordered and received.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all customer expectations are met through delivery of specialized products.
  • Ensure that project goals are accomplished in line with business objectives.
  • Manage project risks and implement mitigation plans.
  • Support the development of product documentation, instructions, user guides, metrics and sales and marketing content.
  • Engage customers to clarify requirements and identify solutions.
  • Use data and metrics to evaluate the performance of a project.
  • Manage, plan and coordinate the development of new products and enhancements of existing products based on short-term and long-term needs.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not require the supervision of direct reports.
Work Environment
This job operates in professional office, workshop, production facility, and field environments which can include working near moving mechanical parts, non-weather wet or humid conditions, and extreme cold and heat. We operate inside and outside, in all weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, hand tools, site equipment and vehicles, and is required to use and wear standard PPE, which will be provided by the company.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work for prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Lifting of up to 25 lbs. may occur.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. Standard days and hours are 40 hours per week, with weekends and extended hours as needed. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends is required based on business needs.
Travel
This position requires travel approximately one quarter of the year. Travel will be to customer and project locations within the Continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS) to include classified and hostile environments. Travel to company facilities in NY and PA will also be required.
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience performing project management role on complex projects.
  • Experience with manufacturing or constructing SCIFs, shielded enclosures, and other federal mission critical facilities preferred but not required.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Experience with Lean concepts and applying them in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Work Authorization / Security Clearance
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal government security clearance.
  • Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS) and outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).
  • Must be able to pass federal contract OCONUS deployment requirements published by the US Government from time to time.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) drug test and motor vehicle record review.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license compliant with REAL ID requirements.
