Job Summary & General Information
The Alpharetta Fire Corps is seeking dedicated volunteers to support the City of Alpharetta and the North Fulton firefighting community in a non-emergency, operational support role. Fire Corps volunteers assist firefighters during active incidents and planned events by providing SCBA (breathing air) refills, decontamination services, firefighter rehabilitation, scene lighting, and shelter during prolonged operations. Volunteers also support community events by staffing first aid tents and providing general logistical assistance. The Alpharetta Fire Corps enables trained volunteers to play a meaningful support role in public safety operations, helping ensure firefighters and community members receive timely and effective assistance during incidents and events.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Essential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation. The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. • Provide SCBA (breathing air) refill support during emergency incidents
• Assist with on-scene decontamination procedures
• Support firefighter rehabilitation operations
• Set up and operate scene lighting and shelter during extended events
• Staff first aid tents and assist with public safety needs at special events
• Perform other non-emergency support tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
• Must be dependable, safety-focused, and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to follow instructions in dynamic or high-activity environments
• Willingness to complete required training for assigned duties
• No previous firefighting experience or certification required
  • Volunteer schedules vary based on incident activity and community event needs. Training and participation expectations will be discussed during onboarding.
