JOB STATUS: Full Time
CLEARANCE: Secret
TRAVEL: <25%

Systems Engineering Group (SEG), a wholly owned subsidiary of Astrion LLC, is seeking enthusiastic candidates wanting to support the defense of our nation. SEG provides an intellectually stimulating environment with excellent opportunities for technical and leadership growth.
Advanced Planner is responsible to perform tasks as an Advanced Planner requiring specialized knowledge of ship maintenance and modernization planning and execution, and US Navy policies, processes, and regulations for ship repair and modernization. The position requires knowledge of equipment maintenance and operation processes and principles related to radar systems life cycle sustainment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Active US DoD SECRET clearance
  • 10 years of experience in logistic support supporting naval shipboard systems.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Radar and Weapon System experience.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and support execution of shipboard test and evaluation event.
  • Understanding and knowledge of using test equipment, such as multi-meter, Oscilloscope, or other test equipment.
  • Ability to learn performing electronics engineering practices to build, repair, test, or evaluate weapon systems.
  • Ability to learn and implement Best Practices for weapon systems operation, integration process, products, and services.
  • Ability to review electronics/mechanical schematics/drawings.
  • Ability to learn to determine causes that impact performance/readiness of systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience with documentation and presentations via Microsoft office products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and coordinate all Advanced Planning associated with SPY-6 Radar installation and modernization projects.
  • Plan work to be accomplished by Combat Systems Port Engineer(s) (CSPE(s)), On-Site Installation Coordinator(s) (OSIC(s)), installation and modernization Team Leads, In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) personnel. Set and adjust short-term priorities and prepare schedules for completion of work.
  • Review, analyze, research, and provide recommendations for execution of installation and modernization efforts during scheduled CNO Maintenance Availabilities.
  • Review the preliminary work package, Availability Work Package (AWP), and all other technical documents as needed to identify all weapon and combat system element integration requirements and works with sponsors to ensure certification tests meet technical and operational requirements.
  • Organize and present thoughts, plans, and results in a clear and concise manner in both formal and informal situations
  • Communicate complex concepts both orally and in written form to a broad spectrum of personnel
  • Prepare formal reports, studies and documents, which are properly organized, accurate, and effective.
