Job description

Saalex is seeking a Software Engineer (Range Systems) in Corona, CA. Saalex is an Engineering and Information Technology Services company with a focus on Test Range Operations and Management, Engineering and Logistics Services, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Services and Information Technology Services.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $115K-$150K (depending on experience)

Work Location: Hybrid remote/in-office (see onsite requirements below). Preference for candidates near Corona, CA.

**On-site Requirements: This position is 25% telework and 75% onsite at NSWC Corona to integrate with hardware.

Job Summary:

Saalex is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support the development, integration, and sustainment of complex defense-related systems. This role requires collaboration with both software and hardware engineering teams and will contribute to system-level design, implementation, integration, and verification activities. While the role may be performed remotely, periodic on-site support in Corona, CA is required to support hardware and system integration efforts.

Essential Functions:

  • Design, develop, integrate, and maintain software solutions for complex systems
  • Participate in system architecture, requirements analysis, and interface definition
  • Develop software that interfaces with hardware components and test equipment
  • Support system integration, testing, and validation activities
  • Troubleshoot software and hardware integration issues
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams

Requirements

Required:

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant systems and/or software engineering experience
  • Experience developing software for complex, integrated systems
  • Proficiency in C++, Java, Python, or C#
  • Experience with hardware/software integration

Desired:

  • Experience supporting DoD or defense programs
  • Familiarity with embedded or real-time systems
  • Experience with MBSE or lab-based integration and testing- Experience with remote range systems, scoring systems, and hardware integration.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, sockets, and client/server architectures.


Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Security Clearance:

Active Secret Clearance required. Requirements to obtain clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
