Job Summary
Farmers (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks an Agile Developer Team Member V to design and develop computer programs, perform preliminary evaluation of packaged software and monitor the work of junior staff to ensure accuracy of program logic and efficient use of computer resources. Specific duties include: code instructions for computer programs/objects/components; configure packaged software; test and implement all changes to ensure they meet specifications; document and implement programs according to installation standards and conventions; quality checks program code, related objects and documentation; respond to Production Support issues; analyze programs to ensure that they efficiently use computer and storage resources; conduct preliminary estimates / Rough Order of Magnitude for the level of effort of new/change to application functionality; analyze and make recommendations for the need for system backup, security, restart/recovery, balancing and controls; recommend approaches for meeting such needs; analyze and document the requirements and approaches to data conversion and data modeling; conduct system studies, analyze existing computerized and manual processes to improve efficiency; research and develop techniques for automation; support implementation/training activities; and troubleshoot system environmental issues. Option to work remotely.
Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field of study, plus 5 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Manager, Technical Lead, Consultant, Software Engineer, or similar position designing and developing computer programs. Must have 5 years of experience with each of the following: working in the Property and Casualty industry; and working with Java, J2EE, Spring, and Web Services. Must also have 4 years of experience with each of the following: working with Policy Center, Integration; and working with Gosu. Specific experience must also include 3 years of working in UML and Oracle Database. Option to work remotely.
