Accounting Clerk

Location: Costa Mesa and Irvine CA
Pay Rate: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday | Full-Time

Job Summary

Adecco is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Clerk to join a growing construction distribution company. This position is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general administrative accounting duties. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience and strong organizational skills. A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is a plus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Match purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documents.
  • Prepare and enter accounting data into accounting software systems.
  • Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and customer accounts.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities and financial reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records of invoices, payments, and account balances.
  • Follow up on outstanding customer invoices and vendor inquiries.
  • Support payroll processing and related documentation as needed.
  • Generate reports and assist management with financial data analysis.
  • File and maintain accounting and financial records in accordance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure accurate financial transactions.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting clerk, bookkeeping, or similar accounting experience.
  • Experience working in a construction, distribution, logistics, or industrial environment preferred.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
