Job description

What Clinical Operations contributes to Cardinal Health
Clinical Operations is responsible for providing clinical specialties support and expertise in the areas of advice and consulting, research and patient care to internal business units and external customers.
Clinical Operations is responsible for supporting the timely and quality sale, installation and monitoring of Cardinal Health products and services; may also provide product and service education to facilitate technology adoption and workflow change management.

This position is full-time working 40 hours/week (remote)

Travel up to 50% of the time

Responsibilities

Operational & Infusion Workflow Support

  • Support end-to-end infusion workflows, including referral intake, scheduling coordination, benefits verification, prior authorization support, and documentation tracking

  • Serve as an operational liaison between pharmacy operations, nursing teams, reimbursement, and account management to ensure seamless execution of infusion services

  • Monitor infusion work queues and assist with issue resolution to prevent delays in patient access to therapy

  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or bottlenecks in infusion workflows and recommend process improvements

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Track and analyze infusion-related metrics, including referral volumes, turnaround times, payer trends, site-of-care utilization, and operational performance

  • Develop and maintain routine and ad hoc reports to support leadership, account management, and client reporting needs

  • Assist with data validation and accuracy across infusion systems, dashboards, and reporting tools

  • Support performance assessments, operational reviews, and client-facing analytics as needed

Payer & Reimbursement Support

  • Assist with benefits investigation and authorization workflows for infusion therapies, working closely with reimbursement teams

  • Support payer-related inquiries, denials tracking, and escalation workflows

  • Help identify trends related to payer requirements, authorization timelines, and reimbursement challenges

Process Improvement & Compliance Support

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance infusion efficiency, compliance, and scalability

  • Support documentation and data needs related to audits, performance assessments, RFIs, and plans of correction

  • Assist in maintaining alignment with internal policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements impacting infusion services

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with pharmacists, nurses, account managers, and leadership to support operational and strategic infusion initiatives

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders regarding infusion status, issues, and trends

  • Provide operational insights and recommendations to support decision-making and service optimization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in infusion pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, or site-of-care operations,

  • Familiarity with benefits investigation, prior authorization, and payer workflows for infusion therapies

  • Experience supporting performance assessments, RFIs, client reporting, or operational audits

  • Knowledge of limited distribution drugs (LDDs) or specialty infusion products

  • Experience with pharmacy management systems, referral platforms, or healthcare data systems


Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience, preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, data analytics, life sciences, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience

  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare operations, pharmacy operations, infusion services, or patient access/reimbursement support

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable insights

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other reporting or data analysis tools

  • Experience working in cross-functional healthcare environments with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
