Job description

About Carda
Carda Health is building the world's first patient-centered virtual heart and lung platform, starting with cardiac and pulmonary rehab. With only 10% of eligible patients accessing rehab, we're revolutionizing care through accessible, effective, and engaging home-based programs. Backed by top investors, we partner with leading hospitals and insurers to expand access to life-saving treatments.
We are a team of clinicians, mathematicians, entrepreneurs, and engineers who believe technology and data, when applied ethically, can transform healthcare.
Who are you?
You are a seasoned clinical operations leader who has built and scaled care delivery programs from the ground up. You've led clinical teams in high-growth environments and know what it takes to deliver exceptional patient outcomes without sacrificing speed or efficiency. You are equally comfortable setting strategic direction and rolling up your sleeves to get things done. You hold yourself and your team to an exceptionally high bar on quality, compliance, and performance. You take it personally when the organization isn't operating at its best. You are a rare combination of clinical credibility, operational rigor, and startup hustle, and you're ready to help define what world-class virtual cardiac and pulmonary care looks like.
What will you do?
As Head of Clinical Operations, you will own the full clinical delivery infrastructure at Carda Health. You will build and lead the teams, systems, and processes that power our virtual cardiac and pulmonary rehab programs at scale. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be a key member of our leadership team - shaping clinical strategy, driving operational excellence, and ensuring every patient who comes through our platform receives outstanding care.
In a little more detail, you will be expected to:
  • Own end-to-end clinical operations across all Carda programs - from patient onboarding and care team workflows to outcomes tracking and quality assurance
  • Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing remote clinical team including exercise physiologists, nurses, and care coordinators
  • Develop and enforce clinical SOPs, compliance frameworks, and accreditation standards that scale with the business
  • Partner closely with Growth and Partnerships to support the successful launch and expansion of programs within hospital and health system accounts
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate clinical needs into technology requirements and continuously improve the patient and clinician experience
  • Define, track, and report on clinical KPIs - including patient outcomes, adherence, satisfaction, and safety - and drive improvement across all metrics
  • Serve as a key external-facing clinical voice with partner health systems, payers, and regulators

What we look for:
  • 7+ years of experience in clinical or healthcare operations
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling clinical programs, ideally in a digital health or virtual care environment
  • Proven ability to hire, develop, and lead high-performing clinical teams in a remote environment
  • Strong strategic thinking paired with a bias toward execution - you set the vision and make sure it actually happens
  • Data-driven mindset with experience owning clinical quality metrics and outcomes reporting
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills; able to lead through influence with clinicians, operators, executives, and partners alike

Nice to haves:
  • Clinical background in cardiology, pulmonology, or cardiac/pulmonary rehab
  • Experience working directly with hospital systems or health plan partners
  • Familiarity with value-based care models and CMS reimbursement frameworks
  • Prior experience at an early-stage or high-growth health tech company
