About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Helpline Counselor / Care Coordinator to provide telephone-based support, crisis counseling, suicide intervention, and advocacy to individuals seeking assistance. This role ensures clients receive the services they are eligible for through system navigation, screening, assessment, and follow-up via phone and email.Key Responsibilities: Provide information, referrals, and support to callers contacting our helplines.Conduct telephone crisis counseling and suicide intervention, including safety assessment, planning, and follow-ups.Serve as a mandated reporter in cases of suspected abuse or neglect.Facilitate warm transfers to appropriate service providers and ensure clients access needed benefits.Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including case notes and reports.Advocate for individuals and families to access public and private resources.Participate in mandatory training, nesting period, and ongoing professional development.Collaborate with colleagues and represent the organization at community events, task forces, and volunteer opportunities.Maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.Obtain certifications as Information & Referral Specialist (Inform USA) and Crisis Specialist (American Association of Suicidology) after 1 year.Requirements: Bachelor s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field (or equivalent experience in social services).2+ years providing information and referral services preferred; 1+ year crisis counseling or clinical experience preferred.Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis intervention skills.Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations.Skilled in managing multiple tasks and using computer applications (Microsoft Office, email, intranet).Bilingual: English/Spanish required.Perks & Benefits: Competitive medical and dental plans.Generous vacation and holiday pay.401(k) match.Monthly in-service training and CEU opportunities.Work Environment: Must be able to work flexible schedules including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.Opportunity to be part of a caring and dedicated team making a real impact in the community.Atwork Personnel is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment for all employees.
