Salary:
  • $55,000+ annually (based on experience and qualifications).
  • Hourly equivalent: $34.28 – $41.28.

Job Summary
Inlet Grove Community High School is seeking a qualified and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to support the social, emotional, and psychological well-being of our students. The ideal candidate will provide professional mental health assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver counseling services that empower students to overcome challenges and achieve academic and personal success.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct mental health assessments and evaluations for students.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment and intervention plans.
  • Provide individual, group, and crisis counseling services.
  • Support students dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral challenges, and other mental health concerns.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Provide referrals to external mental health services when appropriate.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and school-based support services.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from a CACREP-accredited program (Minimum 60 semester hours or 80 quarter hours of clinical and didactic instruction required).
  • Valid State of Florida licensure or eligibility for licensure (LMHC or Registered Intern preferred).
  • Experience working with adolescents or in a school-based setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a Title I or high school environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or Creole) a plus.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care and restorative practices.
