Job description

Baptist Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in our Inpatient Behavioral Health unit at Wolfson Children's Hospital. This is a PRN weekend shift opportunity.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), you will assess psychosocial needs and provide services that enhance patient functioning, emotional well-being and continued access to services and resources in the community. Overall, this LMHC contributes to the care of patients by addressing their social and emotional needs, developing treatment plans, and providing therapy within a behavioral health setting.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), you will be responsible for:
  • Assess psychosocial needs and provides services that enhance patient functioning, emotional well-being and continued access to services and resources in the community.
  • Facilitates group and individual therapies on an inpatient behavioral health unit

Completes documentation as required for regulatory purposes (Baker Act, clinical documentation)

Assists with safety planning

Licensed Mental Health Counselor Experience:
  • 3-5 Years Experience in Mental Health field Required
  • 1-2 years Individual Counseling Experience Required
  • 1-2 years Group Counseling Experience Required
  • 1-2 years Assessment and Diagnostic Experience Required
  • Less than 1 year Case Management Experience Required
Education & Credential Requirements:
  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor required

** A valid Florida LMHC is required for this role, registered interns will not be considered**
