Job description


Position Summary

The VoIP Technician provides support that consists of routine maintenance, testing, diagnostic fault isolation, problem resolution, activation of features and/or equipment, software configurations and general information on features or capabilities of equipment.

Individuals must be able to attain and maintain a valid U.S. Government security clearance (Secret) in order to be retained in the position.

Duties & Responsibilities

Includes but not limited to the following:

  • Knowledge of telecommunications industry services, solutions and trends.
  • Experience to administer, maintain, patch, upgrade, STIG, and program the Government furnished Avaya VoIP equipment while using policies and regulations, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Database administration of VoIP phones, software changes to include upgrades, patches, and firmware upgrades, database administration of the gateway-routers to include trunk (PRI) / analog connections, and SIP trunking, configuration management of VoIP infrastructure, and installation of technical refreshes or required upgrades.
  • Troubleshooting Voice of Secure Internet Protocol (VoSIP) and other classified voice devices (vIPer, etc.) connected to the VoIP network.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Must have a minimum four (3) years' experience to administer, maintain VoIP phone systems
  • Individual must possess a current DoD 8140 certification; CompTIA Security+ certification
  • National Security background investigation required, Secret
