Job description

WHAT MAKES US EPIC?
At the core of Epic's success are talented, passionate people. Epic prides itself on creating a collaborative, welcoming, and creative environment. Whether it's building award-winning games or crafting engine technology that enables others to make visually stunning interactive experiences, we're always innovating.
Being Epic means being a part of a team that continually strives to do right by our community and users. We're constantly innovating to raise the bar of engine and game development.
ART
What We Do
Push your artistic talent to the limit on a team of world-class environment, character and concept artists who strive to innovate and inspire.
What You'll Do
Epic is looking for a Senior Concept Artist to join the Rocket League team. This is a role for someone who understands that great concept art isn't just beautiful, it solves problems. You'll be responsible for the visual vocabulary that shapes arena, seasonal events, and major visual systems, ensuring the work feels premium, intentional, and unmistakably Rocket League.
Working alongside the Art Director and leads, you'll translate creative briefs into explorations, explorations into direction, and direction into something production can build from while keeping the visual language of the game tight and coherent across a live service that never slows down.
In this role, you will
  • Generate concept work across the full spectrum of Rocket League content - cars, cosmetics, arenas, environments, UI elements, and seasonal events
  • Work closely with the Art Director and leads to explore visual directions and push ideas until the right answer is clear
  • Produce clean, buildable production concepts that give 3D Artists, Environment Artists, and Technical Artists exactly what they need to execute proportions, materials, and clear construction intent
  • Support live service content cadence; you'll be comfortable working at speed without sacrificing craft or cohesion
  • Maintain and evolve the visual language of Rocket League across new features and collaborations, including licensed IP and real-world brand partnerships
  • Contribute to world-building and visual framing for seasonal themes, arenas, and key moments
What we're looking for
  • 5+ years of concept art experience in games on shipped titles, with a portfolio showing range across hard surface, vehicles, organic environments, and stylized design
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Procreate, or equivalent ability to demonstrate process, not just results
  • Strong foundational skills: color theory, value, silhouette; you can articulate why a design works, not just make one that does
  • Experience producing clean, buildable production concepts that translate clearly into 3D
  • A problem-solver first: you can generate a wide range of reads on a brief before locking direction, and you know when to stop exploring
  • Comfortable working within an established visual style while still finding room to push and evolve it
  • Direct communicator you give and receive feedback without mystery or ego
  • Bonus:
    • Background in live service cosmetics pipelines or high-volume seasonal content
    • Experience designing for licensed IP or real-world brand collaborations
    • Ability to create rough 3D blockouts or paint over 3D models as part of your design process
EPIC JOB + EPIC BENEFITS = EPIC LIFE
Our intent is to cover all things that are medically necessary and improve the quality of life. We pay 100% of the premiums for both you and your dependents. We offer unlimited PTO and sick time and recognize individuals for 7 years of employment with a paid sabbatical.
