POSITION SUMMARY
The Pump Assembler I will cut, weld, and sand pipes to prepare for assembly. They will bolt and assemble components to the plumbing system. The Pump Assembler will read through specs and blueprints to ensure it meets the customer's standards. Also, they will perform water and suction tests to ensure the efficiency of the plumbing system.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
All employees are required to support Rosenbauer's Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.
  1. Cuts, welds, and sands pipes to prepare for assembly.
  2. Bolts and assembles components to the plumbing system.
  3. Reads through specs and blueprints to ensure it meets the standards of the customer.
  4. Performs water and suction tests to ensure the efficiency of the plumbing system.
  5. Installs valves and ensures they are correctly attached.
  6. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor to meet the needs of the department.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA'S):

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • General plumbing, mechanical, and/or fabrication knowledge is preferred.

Skills:
Language:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Math:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Computer Skills:
  • Ability to learn how to run a computer terminal or PC.
  • No prior experience required (Incumbent will look up and/or enter information into a pre-formatted screen).

Abilities:
  • Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields.
  • Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
  • Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books with increased proficiency.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Able to follow a standard set of instructions that describe the proper procedures for handling problems that may occur.
  • Ability to identify quality issues and recognize changes within one's production process and make the needed adjustments.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately and precisely and have a basic understanding on how to use basic hand tools, shear, and brake press.
  • Ability to recognize the importance of and adherence to all safety policies in order to promote a safe working environment, for everyone at the organization.
