Job description

Job Title: Senior Virtualization & Compute Support Engineer Overview / Summary Bring your compute, virtualization, and systems infrastructure expertise into a critical operations environment where uptime, performance, and reliable infrastructure support are essential. The Senior Virtualization & Compute Support Engineer will provide L3 support for compute and virtualization platforms while supporting broader infrastructure operations. This role helps ensure systems are stable, monitored, optimized, and aligned to business and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities Provide L3 support for compute, server, and virtualization environments. Support VMware vSphere, Citrix, or similar virtualization platforms. Monitor compute infrastructure performance, capacity, and reliability.

Troubleshoot server, virtualization, performance, and availability issues. Analyze performance metrics and recommend infrastructure improvements. Support cloud compute services across AWS, Azure, or GCP where applicable.

Coordinate with network, storage, backup, security, and desktop teams. Maintain system documentation, diagrams, operational procedures, and support notes. Participate in root cause analysis and critical incident response.

Support on-call rotation as needed. Required Qualifications 7+ years of systems engineering, compute, virtualization, or infrastructure support experience. Strong L3 compute or virtualization support experience.

Experience with VMware vSphere, Citrix, or similar virtualization technologies. Experience troubleshooting server, performance, and availability issues. Experience with monitoring tools and infrastructure performance analysis.

Working knowledge of network, storage, backup, and desktop dependencies. Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications VMware, Microsoft, Linux, Citrix, AWS, or Azure certifications.

Healthcare or critical operations experience. Cloud compute experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP. SolarWinds or similar monitoring tool experience.
