A leader in cutting-edge research and technology in the cyber arena, CPMG focuses on using business drivers to guide cybersecurity activities and manage risk. CPMG offers flexible, integrative solutions for Department of Defense (DoD) contractors, among others, and specializes in cybersecurity, information and operational technology, electronic security surveillance, and support services.
Summary:
The Engineer, Systems IV (Team Lead) serves as the senior technical authority for systems engineering activities supporting the Clinical Infrastructure Modernization Program Lifecycle Environment (CIMPLE), with a focus on the Compute and Storage Management Service (CSMS) and Data Center Operations (DCOPS). This role leads the design, integration, and sustainment of enterprise-scale virtualization and compute infrastructure supporting the Military Health System (MHS).
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
  • Lead systems engineering activities supporting enterprise virtualization platforms and data center infrastructure
  • Provide technical oversight for the architectural design and engineering of Type-1 hypervisor systems, identifying opportunities for efficiency, scalability, and cost reduction
  • Coordinate system integration across compute platforms (Cisco, Dell, HPE), storage, networking (NFS/iSCSI/Fibre Channel), and GPU-enabled workloads
  • Oversee installation, configuration, and lifecycle management of virtualization environments across pre-production and production systems
  • Lead testing activities, including regression testing of new hypervisor versions in lab environments
  • Guide system-wide upgrades, patching, and configuration standardization in accordance with change management processes
  • Ensure systems engineering activities align with RMF, STIG, IAVA, and DoD cybersecurity requirements

Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
  • Advanced knowledge of systems engineering principles and lifecycle management
  • Strong understanding of data center compute, storage, and network integration
  • Knowledge of DoD IT architecture frameworks and compliance requirements
  • Experience with high-availability, mission-critical systems supporting 24x7 operations
  • Strong technical leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to analyze complex system architectures and drive engineering solutions

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must have a minimum of 10+ years of experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure or virtualization environments
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams or serving as a technical lead
  • Must have a Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
