Who You''ll Work With:

As a Consulting Engineer, you will report directly into the Customer Experience (CX) Delivery Team with primary responsibility for the installation, integration, customization and delivery of Cisco Software products focusing on cloud and networking orchestration and automation. There will be significant customer interaction including on-site delivery for POCs, Production-Pilots and Production deployments.

  • Leads the design and delivery of end-to-end solutions integrating advanced technologies ( Catalyst Switching, Catalyst Center, Routing & Switching, Automation based on Catalyst Center)
  • Aligns delivery with customer outcomes, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and with reduced risks.
  • Expert in multi-domain, networking cross-architecture technology solutions, addressing complex customer IT network and business challenges.
  • 10+ years of experience in customer-centric network solution design and service delivery.
  • Advanced certifications (e.g., CCIE, DevNet Pro) and expertise in programmability, cloud, automation, security, and enterprise architecture.
  • Partners with customers to align solutions with their business models, goals, and challenges, focusing on ROI and value creation.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • This role is largely focusing on a single customer based in Austin, TX who is looking for Enterprise networking expertise to help optimize their Catalyst Networks in the US.
  • CCIE level expertise in Enterprise Catalyst Networks is mandatory.
  • The role will be part of a lifecycle services rendered to by Cisco CX Organization at this customer for 12 months.
  • The responsibilities will include 5-day consulting (both onsite & remote) of customer on their network services, as part of a practice services engagement led by Cisco CS.
  • The Role connects with Cisco internal stakeholders, customers and partners across functions and boundaries to achieve significant results. Earns the confidence of Cisco leaders and customers and able to use the confidence to achieve results.
  • Decisions impact the achievement of customer, operational, program or service objectives.
  • Contribute effectively in the areas of Customer Problem Resolution; Innovation; Engineering Engagement; Intellectual Capital; Talent Development.
  • Interacts effectively with Engineering to solve complex problems, identifies serviceability issues and drives resolution of the issues with Engineering and other organizations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Typically requires BS in a technical field (CS/EE preferred) or equivalent plus 8+ years related experience.
  • Expert level (e.g. CCIE, CCNP) or equivalent relevant certification is highly desired.
  • Cisco DevNet certification is preferred.
  • Has moderate to advanced knowledge of software programmability, automation, orchestration, virtualization and/or security.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to function effectively in ambiguous circumstances.
  • Successfully communicates difficult concepts. Guides, influences and persuades others either internally and externally.
  • Client facing experience. Ability to be onsite once a week or twice a week, at the customer location.

In depth knowledge in one or more of the following technical domains:

Desired Skills:

The Consulting Engineer’s primary role is positioning, architecting and delivering service solutions around Cisco''s Enterprise technologies and integrating them into the customer''s overall data center architecture and design. This position will help drive sales, serve as Enterprise Networking subject matter expert, lead delivery efforts and mentor other technical consultants within the team. Since this is a high-profile position with interface to Cisco''s premier customers, travel may be required and can be anywhere from 10-25% of the time.

Experience/Skills: The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise and expert knowledge of Cisco''s Enterprise products and solutions. Candidate must be self-motivated, team oriented and must possess strong interpersonal and presentation skills. The following skillsets are thus desired of this candidate:

● 6-8 years within Professional Service role(s) in Cisco Networking

● 3-5 years of experience leading large scale Enterprise Design and Implementation Engagements, preferably in Cisco Environment

● Experience in Programming and Automation.  Python, and Ansible desired

● Expert level knowledge in Cisco Catalyst Center, Catalyst Switches, SDA highly desired

● Expert level knowledge highly desired in Enterprise Routing and Switching technologies, such as MPLS, DMVPN, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS VXLAN, LISP and VRF.

● Outstanding Consulting skills.  Required atleast 8 years of experience in consulting roles.  Ability to influence customer decisions and outcomes.  Ability to gain customer trust quickly, and confidently articulate Cisco’s Enterprise Networking SD strategies and architectures.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

● Demonstrated knowledge of Campus Networking environments

● One or more CCIE Preferred, in order of preference: Enterprise, Security or any other

Catalyst Center Hands-on knowledge and Catalyst Automation are highly required skills on this role

● High level / working knowledge of Wireless, and ISE technologies required (not mandatory)

● Knowledge of Network Segmentation, and TrustSec highly preferred (not a must)
